Xuexin Lu, MD

Xuexin Lu, MD. Pediatric Critical Care Fellow. Children’s Mercy Kansas City.

Dr. Xuexin Lu is currently a Pediatric Critical Care fellow at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. She earned her M.D. through the Clinician-Scientist Program at Fudan University and completed pediatric residency at Henry Ford St. John Hospital. With advanced training in clinical research and biostatistics, Dr. Lu is pursuing a graduate certificate in clinical research while leading a fellowship project that integrates EEG, head CT, and clinical features to predict outcomes in pediatric traumatic brain injury. She has authored over a dozen peer-reviewed publications and presented at national and international conferences, including the Pediatric Neurocritical Care Research Group and the Pacific Association of Pediatric Surgeons. Her clinical contribution includes quality improvement initiatives in status epilepticus management and multidisciplinary rounding, and she is actively involved in simulation-based education for trainees and transport teams. Dr. Lu is a fellow member of the Neurocritical Care Committee and holds memberships in the Neurocritical Care Society, SCCM, and AAP. Fluent in Mandarin and certified through the Bilingual Staff Program, she brings cultural sensitivity to her practice. Dr. Lu’s career reflects a commitment to advancing neurocritical care through collaborative research, education, and evidence-based practice.
