Dr. Anastasia Kolousek is a PGY-2 internal medicine resident physician at Emory University planning to apply to Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship. After completing a bachelor’s in biology at Berry College and a master’s in biomedical science at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine she completed her medical training at Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta Georgia. During Medical school her research was focused on reducing unnecessary utilization on pediatric trauma patients and exploring the roles of the cycloxygenase-2 and endocannabinoid pathways on airway inflammation.
In residency her research focuses on improving early sepsis identification and sepsis identification protocols as well as pregnancy outcomes in pulmonary hypertension. She has additional interest in the interaction between hematologic process and lung disease with work focusing on race and ethnicity in hemophilia.
