Northwestern University, Illinois
My name is Wan‑Ting Liao, and I am a Research Data Analyst at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. I develop and implement ETL pipelines to convert hospital EDW data into the CLIF format, ensuring data consistency, integrity, and interoperability across ICU datasets. I also support preparation of the SCRIPT dataset and contribute to machine learning projects aimed at predicting ICU patient outcomes, with a focus on extubation timing and intubation-related clinical research to improve patient care and hospital management.
Before joining Northwestern, I studied and interned at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, contributing to healthcare workforce and clinical informatics research. My work included developing an interactive COPD dashboard, performing time-series analysis of nurse fatigue, and applying machine learning techniques for disease diagnosis.
I hold a Master’s in Biomedical & Health Informatics from UNC-Chapel Hill and a Master’s in Biomedical Engineering from National Tsing Hua University. My earlier research focused on point-of-care testing, developing biomarker-based diagnostic tools for infection detection. I am passionate about applying data-driven and machine learning methods to predict disease progression and optimize clinical decision-making.
