Arun Bansal, MD (he/him/his)

PGIMER Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, IND

Dr. Arun Bansal is Professor of Pediatric Critical Care and Additional Medical Superintendent at the Advanced Pediatric Center, PGIMER, Chandigarh, India. He obtained his MD (Pediatrics, 2001) and trained in Pediatric Critical Care at St. Mary’s Hospital, London (2006), earning MRCPCH (UK) and later FRCPCH (2019) and FCCM (2018). A founding faculty of India’s first DM program in Pediatric Critical Care, he has mentored over 40 MD and 15 DM fellows. His key interests include neurocritical care, ARDS, nutrition, sepsis, and simulation-based training. Dr. Bansal has published over 150 peer-reviewed papers, 50 book chapters, and serves as Associate Editor of Journal of Pediatric Critical Care and on the Editorial Board of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. He has led multiple national and international research projects and conferences, including the 2nd Asian Congress of Pediatric Intensive Care (2017), and currently serves as Chairperson, IAP Pediatric Intensive Care Chapter, and Dean, Indian College of Pediatrics (2024–25).
