Victoria Carr, MD is a first-year pediatric critical care medicine fellow at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital at the University of Michigan. She is interested in improving access to care and outcomes for children through a lens of health policy and health services research. She has particular interests in children's health insurance policy and pediatric bedspace and capacity challenges. She will begin a two-year health services research fellowship through the Susan B. Meister Child Health Evaluation and Research Center (CHEAR) at the University of Michigan in July 2026. As a part of the CHEAR fellowship, she will obtain a Master's in Health and Health Services Research.
She is originally from Birmingham, Alabama. She graduated magna cum laude from Vanderbilt University where she majored in Spanish and Medicine, Health, and Society with a minor in Biology. She earned her medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in 2022 where she also completed a Graduate Certificate in Health Equity. She completed her pediatric residency training at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in 2025 and earned a Certificate in Child Health Advocacy and Community Engagement. She has presented prior research at the Pediatric Academic Societies Meeting and participated in the American Academy of Pediatrics National Advocacy Conference.
