Dr. Paul Festor is a healthcare AI researcher and founding engineer at STRIVE Health, where he develops precision-dosing technologies grounded in his doctoral work. He completed his PhD in Computing at Imperial College London, specializing in reinforcement learning, clinician–AI interaction, and safety evaluation of clinical decision support systems. His research has led to novel methodologies for assessing the safety of AI tools in intensive care and has been deployed in real hospital environments.
Dr. Festor has authored more than ten peer-reviewed publications, including work in NPJ Digital Medicine and the ICML workshop series, focusing on clinician behavior, AI explainability, and safe cooperation between humans and machine-learning systems. Before STRIVE Health, he worked across academia and industry in machine learning, human-computer interaction, and applied mathematics, and has contributed to open source software.
