Ivan Saraiva, MD MS, is a critical care physician and researcher. He has recently completed a T32 postdoctoral scholar program with the Department of Critical Care Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr Saraiva completed medical school at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, Brazil. He then completed Internal Medicine residency at the New York University, followed by a Master of Science degree back in his medical school in Brazil. Later he joined the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center for his Critical Care Medicine fellowship. Since 2023 he has been investigating the roles of fatty acids in organ injury during critical illness, exploring the complex interface of nutrition and critical care medicine.
