Mr. Ugbeye's professional journey is deeply rooted in clinical practice. He is a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant with over a decade of clinical experience. Currently, he continues to practice on a fractional basis. His direct work in a Level 1 trauma center during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic provided a critical impetus for the foundation of Scopemed. This firsthand exposure to the challenges of oxygen delivery and infection control in acute care settings directly informed his vision for improving respiratory care. A significant accomplishment under Mr. Ugbeye's leadership is the founding of Scopemed, a venture born from a direct clinical need observed during the pandemic. This led to the innovative redesign of the traditional oxygen mask, incorporating modular technology for enhanced functionality. He has been instrumental in pioneering airway management with Scopemed's flagship product, O2rizon, a modular device with an IP protected combination of advanced oxygen delivery, real time breath monitoring, and on-demand resuscitation. His active engagement with health systems, including University Hospitals and Ohio Gastroenterology Group, highlights his commitment to leveraging expert advice and connections to refine Scopemed's business model, positioning the company for investor success and sustained growth.
