Charlene Pringle MSN, CPNP-AC/PC, FCCM graduated from Duke University following dual training in primary and acute care. She was a practicing pediatric critical care nurse practitioner from 2001-2024. In addition to her clinical role as lead APP at UFHealth Shands Children's Hospital, she was fortunate to serve in support of the pediatric critical care division’s clinical research program, first as Assistant Director and then as Director from 2020-2025. Charlene's areas of clinical research included pediatric TBI, OHCA and nutrition. She first joined SCCM in 2003, and haas been an active member of the pediatric, nursing and research sections. She joined the Pediatric APP subcommittee in 2003, and served as Chair-elect from 2017-2019, then Chair from 2019-2021. Charlene currently serves on the Pediatric Section steering committee. After 2 decades as a volunteer subject matter expert, in 2025 Charlene joined the staff of the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board, the certifying body for pediatric acute care nurse practitioners in the U.S.
